Di Marzio gives key update on Chelsea target Donnarumma: “I think he will leave, but…”

By Oliver Fisher -

Gianluigi Donnarumma is more likely to leave AC Milan this summer than stay, Gianluca Di Marzio claims, but a renewal cannot be ruled out.

The Rossoneri continue to be linked with a number of goalkeeping targets given the doubts over the future of Gianluigi Donnarumma, whose contract expires at the end of next season with no signs regarding a renewal as of yet.

Reports have suggested Chelsea are serious about landing the 21-year-old, while Juventus, PSG and Real Madrid have also been repeatedly linked.

Now, Gianluca Di Marzio (via MilanNews) has given an update to Sky Italia regarding the future of Donnarumma. He confirms that Milan will sell if they cannot secure a renewal, but at the moment there have been no strong signals either way.

The journalist adds that many times an operation had been set up with PSG as well as Juventus and other clubs – presumably by his agent Mino Raiola – but in the end the keeper always decided to stay because his heart is Rossonero and he has always been connected to Milan.

“I think he will leave but there is the possible Donnarumma variable that could blow everything up and [he could] renew even for less. It must always be considered what Donnarumma’s heart is in this matter,” Di Marzio added.
