Gianluca Di Marzio does not believe that the conditions currently exist whereby Franck Kessie could renew his contract with AC Milan.
The Sky journalist spoke at even around his book to MilanNews and was asked about the situation surrounding Kessie, stating that at present there is a ‘negative feeling’ because there is so much distance. Milan have made an offer with bonuses of €6m net per season, while Kessie and his agent are asking for €9m, therefore there is a huge distance.
However, he adds that ‘we are still in November’ and recalls how a number of renewals in recent years have been resolved in the final months of a player’s contract, so there is plenty of time for Kessie to ‘come to his senses’ as per Di Marzio.
It also depends on whether other teams in Europe will give him the amount money he wants and if he makes a choice based on money then he will have decided because of that.
“I think that what Milan offers him is important, at Milan he is an important player beyond the money. If I were him I would think about it,” he added.
