Di Marzio: Loftus-Cheek, Pulisic, Chukwueze – the latest from Milan’s treatment room

A further update has arrived on AC Milan’s injured players, and there is no positive news in view of Saturday’s game against Udinese at San Siro.

Gianluca Di Marzio reports on PazziDiFanta that Ruben Loftus-Cheek – who has been out since the end of September due to an adductor problem – is still training on his own and therefore should also miss the match against Udinese.

His return against Paris Saint-Germain is more likely and the same goes for Christian Pulisic, for whom injuries were ruled out after the discomfort he had in Naples, but risks will be averted.

Simon Kjaer was not available against Napoli due to a muscle strain and the Danish defender carried out individual work on the field in the most recent training session. He should rejoin the group soon though, and would be the only alternative centre-back along with Jan-Carlo Simic.

Pierre Kalulu suffered a bad thigh injury during the match at the Maradona and thus is considering surgery that would keep him out for a ‘very long recovery time’.

Finally, Samuel Chukwueze could be back sooner than expected: after the hamstring injury in mid-October with Nigeria, he could return on 11 November against Lecce instead of against Fiorentina after the break.

  1. RLC’s minutes must be managed because he is just built different. He’ll get injured again if he plays every three days. Musah is more than a capable replacement.

Pioli will likely introduce RLC at the second half against Udine, but I would bring him in for Reijnders and move Musah over. Reijnders has been playing A LOT. Needs a break and a mental reset. This whole goal scoring talk probably getting to him. He needs to relax. The goals will come.
