Di Marzio: Milan begin talks as Juventus demand €40m for defender

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan remain interested in signing Juventus defender Merih Demiral despite a high asking price, it is claimed.

Ricky Massara, Paolo Maldini and the rest of the Rossoneri leadership are seemingly intent on adding a new central defender to partner Alessio Romagnoli.

A number of names have been linked, though earlier in the week Demiral’s name was mentioned for the first time, with the possibility of a loan move to Milan touted.

Now, Gianluca Di Marzio has claimed that Milan are still keen on the idea of signing the Turkey international but not on loan.

Talks between the clubs are ‘ongoing’, however the Bianconeri have apparently slapped a €40million price tag on the 21-year-old’s head.

The idea of a loan with an option to buy can not be ruled out, though Juve would possibly insert a buy-back option.

The Turkey international recently joined Juve for €18m after a successful loan spell at Sassuolo.
