Di Marzio: Milan initiate contacts to loan Real Madrid defender – would pay part of salary

Milan’s search for a centre-back continues. With just a few days left of the transfer window, they have been linked with several players as of late. They could turn to Real Madrid and another loan, a report claims.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, as Wesley Fofana’s move to Leicester was announced earlier this evening, the Rossoneri are monitoring other options. In addition to Takehiro Tomiyasu, Nacho Fernandez is on their wish list.

The 30-year-old, who currently plays for Real Madrid, is an experienced centre-back that would help fix Milan’s emergency at the back. A meeting with the parties has already taken place, with the San Siro side working on a dry loan.

In other words, no option to buy included, just like the deal that brought Brahim Diaz to Milan. Should the clubs reach an agreement, Real Madrid could also pay part of the player’s salary to facilitate the move.
