Di Marzio: Two Milan youngsters set for new Serie A clubs this season

By Euan Burns -

Two of AC Milan’s young players are set to join Serie A clubs this summer for more first team experience, a report claims.

As has been reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, both Marco Brescianini and Daniel Maldini are not expected to be a part of the first team setup in the 2023/24 season.

This is because Brescianini is set to move on loan to newly-promoted Frosinone who want to bolster their defence. The centre-back was on loan in Serie B last season so this represents a good natural next step for his development.

There are also ongoing contacts between Milan and Empoli regarding Maldini, although it is not clear whether that is for a loan move or a permanent deal.

He spent last season on loan at Spezia but they ended up getting relegated to Serie B. Given the focus on signing wingers, it is no surprise that he is not being kept.

  1. There’s no plan whatsoever for these or any of the other youth players to ever be part of the first team.

Nobody gets commission if a youth player gets promoted. Instead we must go out and buy 10 new players every transfer window.

To every window. Churn, churn, churn….
