Di Marzio: Monza the latest team to express interest in Milan forward

By Oliver Fisher -

Another team have come forward and expressed interest in signing Lorenzo Colombo on loan from AC Milan, according to a report.

The latest update from Gianluca Di Marzio states that Monza are not only interested in signing Luis Muriel from Atalanta but also Colombo. However, they face competition from newly promoted duo Genoa and Cagliari.

The three clubs were clearly impressed by what they saw from the 21-year-old last season on loan at Lecce where he made 33 appearances and scored five goals.

Colombo is currently the third striker in Stefano Pioli’s squad and he has been evaluating his performances during the preseason friendly matches both at Milanello and on the tour of the United States.

As our recent update stated, the Milan management and even Pioli himself are torn on what to do. While consistent playing time is needed for his development, the head coach seems to be oriented towards keeping him.
