AC Milan were not in the running for Douglas Costa during the January window despite rumours suggesting otherwise, Gianluca Di Marzio has claimed.
Tuttosport (via MilanNews) reported late in the window how Milan have been evaluating the idea of making a move for Douglas Costa, another addition that would bolster the squad and the team’s Scudetto hopes.
The 30-year-old is currently on loan at Bayern Munich, but the paper claims that the German club have already communicated to Juventus – who own the player – that they will not exercise their option to buy. Not only that, but the Bundesliga would be willing to let him leave as early as January.
However, Fabrizio Romano told us he had no confirmations of Milan’s interest in the Brazilian during our podcast with him, and now Gianluca Di Marzio has told Sky (via MilanNews) that there has been no negotiation for Douglas Costa to join Milan. “It is not a subject that has been worked on,” he added.
