Di Marzio: The latest on Todibo talks – Milan working on loan; Barcelona want €25m

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan and Barcelona are working towards an agreement over defender Jean-Clair Todibo, according to a report.

We revealed on Friday that Todibo is a target for the Rossoneri, and Fabrizio Romano provided an update for Calciomercato.com claiming that the Frenchman had given the ‘ok’ to join Milan next month.

Milan are looking to reinforce their defensive department in the upcoming window after the injury sustained by Leo Duarte, and talks between the two clubs over a fee for Todibo are seemingly ongoing.

La Gazzetta dello Sport went one further on Tuesday afternoon by claiming that Todibo has requested a move in January due to a lack of game time, with talks at an early stage.

The latest from the reliable Gianluca Di Marzio offers more insight: he claims that the basis of the talks involves a loan with the obligation to buy.

However, there is still no agreement on the figures: the Catalan side want a fee of €25million built into the deal plus the option to buy him back for a fixed amount. An agreement is not yet close, as a result.
