Di Marzio: Why Milan haven’t reached an agreement with Rangnick yet

By Isak Möller -

For months now, Ralf Rangnick has been linked with a move to AC Milan, as CEO Ivan Gazidis sees him as the perfect profile for the ‘new Milan’. However, the parties have failed to reach an agreement on the matter.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, speaking live on Sky Italia (via MilanNews.it), Marcelino was the Rossoneri’s first choice when Marco Giampaolo was sacked. However, at the time, the Spaniard didn’t feel like taking over the club.

Now, however, the situation has changed and Rangnick is the first choice. As the reporter states, there have been ups and downs in the negotiations between the parties, but the contacts have always continued.

The main reason behind the lack of an agreement, according to Di Marzio, is the transfer budget. The German manager wants to know the budget in good time and the parties are yet to find an understanding of the matter.
