Di Marzio: Milan and Chelsea finalising €21.5m transfer of Loftus-Cheek

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan and Chelsea are working on the final details for the transfer of Ruben Loftus-Cheek. In other words, the Englishman is just one step away from joining the Rossoneri and his former teammate Fikayo Tomori.

Milan have been linked with the midfielder for quite some time and a deal appeared close already at the beginning of June. However, then Paolo Maldini was sacked and the pursuit was put on hold.

In the last few days, Giorgio Furlani has re-started the pursuit and the final details are now being worked out with Chelsea, as per Gianluca Di Marzio. The deal should be worth £18.5m, which is €21.5m, including bonuses.

Loftus-Cheek is thus set to become the first signing of the summer for Milan. It’s a much-needed reinforcement in the midfield following the departure of Sandro Tonali and the serious injury of Ismael Bennacer.

Milan also need to sign a striker ahead of next season and it seems the most concrete targets are Alvaro Morata and Gianluca Scamacca.

    1. Kamada + RLC = no Guler

Italian club cannot sign more than 2 non-EU from abroad in a season even if they sell more than 2 non-EU abroad in that season…

  1. Loftus-cheek didn’t play nearly the half minutes Tonali played in a season… I can’t believe what’s happening…

    1. Please stop already.
Luftus-Cheek played a total of 1,912′ minutes across all competitions last season.

Please I will like to know, how many minutes Tonali would have played in a midfield consisting of Kovacic and Enzo Fernandez.

  2. So let me get this straight; the only two legitimate targets we have right now are the ones Maldini/Massara had already initiated( RLC and Kamada). New management targeted Thuram, waited weeks for an answer, just to watch Inter take him. New management then thought it best to unload Tonali for nobody and then ….? We now need midfielders, rw, strikers, defenders, and the latest talk is selling Colombo? What are we doing? We can’t sell the people we don’t need, we can’t buy the people we do need and we sell the people we should keep. This ain’t moneyball, thIs is f@$ked up sh*t.

  3. This signing is a waste of funds to be honest, dude isn’t a prospect or a peak player, not technically gifted or positionally aware, couldn’t make the team or act as an effective sub for ages. We need players who know what to do with the ball and can control a game without instructions cus Pioli doesn’t know how to setup the midfield. I bet we’d end up looking for a buyer at the end of next season

    1. Honestly bro I think a solid 10% of Milan Fans are far more competent for the job of identifying the right players for the right costs

      1. Honestly I thought the first deal would be the Az Alkmaar dude not going back for RLC and spending so much it’s Fu*king insane. Plus he is not even better than Krunic, I’d still play Adli over him anytime anyday.

  4. Wasting 20 mil on a injury prone player who won’t play more than 20 leagues is a joke, having him, Messias and Morata in the starting line up next season will be incredible and I don’t mean that in a good way

  5. You should tell us what are add ons for 4 million.
16 million is not cheap for player who has only 1 year of contract left.

We will see him on the pitch and his value.

  6. We just happened to sign the worst player in the planet, good luck to fans who would pay to watch loftus-cheek and krunic boss the midfield for Milan next season, not me!

Elliot fixed the club just to destroy it again, well done elliot for selling to Redbird!
