Di Marzio: Milan and Inter likely to participate in bidding war for Torino defender

By Isak Möller -

One of AC Milan priorities this month is to bring in a centre-back to cover for Simon Kjaer’s absence. However, it’s not yet known if they will opt for a short or long-term solution, which could change their summer strategy.

On Sky Italia last night, as transcribed by MilanNews, Gianluca Di Marzio spoke about the future of Bremer, whose contract with Torino will expire in 2023. In addition to Milan, Inter are also following the situation closely.

Il Toro are not keen on selling the Brazilian centre-back this month, per the reporter, but there could be a bidding war in the summer. The price tag is set at €30m but both Milan and Inter want to close at around €20m plus bonuses.

In other words, it could be what is known as a mercato derby. A lot will most likely depend on the Rossoneri’s centre-back signing this month as they could end up with a long-term solution.
