Di Marzio: Milan expected to sign Atalanta goalkeeper in the summer – the latest

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan are on the hunt for a new backup goalkeeper as Ciprian Tatarusanu is coming of age. The Rossoneri have set their sights on a free transfer for the summer, a report claims.

Marco Sportiello, whose contract with Atalanta will expire in the summer, is looking for a new club and Milan have opened talks with him. Being 30 years old, he still has many goalkeeping years ahead of him.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio (via MilanNews), Milan are continuing talks with the entourage of Sportiello and they are more or less expected to sign him in the summer. In fact, there are really no roadblocks in the negotiations.

Sportiello has made six appearances for Atalanta this season and he’s regarded as a pretty decent goalkeeper in the league. He’s happy to have a backup role, too, which is probably the key to making the move happen.
