Di Marzio: Milan initiate talks with Tottenham over loan availability of defender

By Isak Möller -

After missing out on Sven Botman, AC Milan have changed their strategy for the defence and are now looking for a low-cost solution. Therefore, they have initiated talks with Tottenham over Japhet Tanganga.

The Rossoneri need a centre-back amid the departure of Alessio Romagnoli and work has been ongoing on this front for quite some time. As said, Botman was the primary target for many months but he ended up joining Newcastle.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio (via SempreMilan.it), Milan have opened talks with Tottenham to discuss the loan availability of Japhet Tanganga. Once they have received the ‘yes’ of Spurs, they will initiate talks with the player.

It remains to be seen what the outcome will be but for now, it seems Tanganga is Milan’s primary target for the defensive department. The fact that he hasn’t played much for the English side could help get the deal over the line.
