Di Marzio: Probable Milan XI for Inter encounter – Gabbia to start again

By Isak Möller -

On Tuesday evening, AC Milan and Inter will face off in the second leg of the Coppa Italia final. It’s an important game for the Rossoneri and the latest report on the starting XI has now arrived.

The first leg ended 0-0 and that means Milan will go through to the final with a draw on Tuesday, as long as they score at least one goal. Another 0-0 draw would, of course, take it to extra time and that’s something both sides want to avoid.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Stefano Pioli is expected to make one change to the starting XI we saw against Genoa. Junior Messias, who came off the bench and scored last time out, will replace Alexis Saelemaekers on the right-wing.

Matteo Gabbia is set to play from start again as Davide Calabria hasn’t returned to group training yet. This could change in the coming days but the feeling is that Pierre Kalulu will be the right-back again.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Kalulu, Gabbia, Tomori, Hernandez; Bennacer, Tonali; Messias, Kessié, Leao; Giroud.

  1. This time we should play 451 on counterattacks like they played 541 last match, let them attack and wait leao on counterattacks, easy win

  2. Saelamakers should play the right back and Kalulu back to his CB position, Gabbbia is a wrong choice… I wonder if Pioli think outside the box.

  3. Calabria is sorta fast but Kalulu is fast fast, and can blow by Perisic like he is standing still. RB is where he should be for any kind of counter attack. Seriously if Pioli was thinking outside the box he would switch Kessie and Tonali. We need Theo and Kalulu to advance the ball centrally to free up Leao and whoever is RW. We need hard shots directly at goal, too many headers and tight angle shots. We have become to predictable, to easy to defend, we scored two last week with our feet. Continue that until they adjust. Forza Milano
