Di Marzio: PSG outcast Wijnaldum emerges as an option – Milan’s stance

AC Milan are looking for a midfielder on the market and as the Renato Sanches talks have stalled, other options have emerged. Georginio Wijnaldum is one of them, expected to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

The Dutch midfielder joined the French side on a free transfer last summer and he made a total of 38 appearances for the club this past season. However, he’s not in the plans of new manager Christophe Galtier and is thus likely to leave.

This was reported by Gianluca Di Marzio late last night, stating that Wijnaldum has emerged as an option for Milan. The Rossoneri have two main worries, though, relating to the player’s high salary and the role he would have in Stefano Pioli’s system.

The salary most likely means the transfer isn’t possible for Milan, who have more or less passed on Paulo Dybala on a free transfer for exactly that reason. Their wage policy will not change even for stars, in other words.
