Ismael Bennacer’s contract will expire in 2024 but as there is a release clause included, AC Milan are working on a new deal for the Algerian midfielder. By the looks of it, they have made great progress.
The 24-year-old had a first tough season with the Rossoneri but has since become a key player for the team. Unfortunately, he has struggled with a few injuries but the feeling is that he can do something important.
Precisely for this reason, Milan are now working on a renewal as they want to get rid of the €50m release clause. As reported by Calciomercato.com, the new deal will keep Bennacwer at the club until 2026, should it go through.
The contacts between the parties have been fruitful, as the report describes it, but there is still some way to go before the final agreement. The distance is currently about €800k, which certainly seems bridgeable in the near future.
The report didn’t mention the release clause, but one would have to imagine that Milan are very keen on removing it or at the very least increasing it.
