Tommaso Baldanzi is gathering some attention with his performances in Serie A this season, and that will almost certainly now include AC Milan fans too.
After the game, Baldanzi spoke to Sky to reflect on what was a very memorable night for him and for Empoli, and he revealed that the game carried a bit of extra meaning given he grew up as a Milan fan.
“We’re having a good season, we’re very happy. The team responded well, we celebrated because we’re happy. I have to keep working and improving, then we’ll see what happens. I have no idols in particular, I try to look at Dybala and other players who fill my role to get some ideas. As a child, I was a fan of Milan,” he said (via MilanLive).
The 19-year-old is already on four goals in 10 appearances so far in his Serie A career with the other goals coming against Verona, Sassuolo and Udinese. It is certainly a very encouraging return from only 596 minutes of total action in the top flight.
Calciomercato.com reported this morning that Milan always keep a close eye on Empoli given their reputation as a talent hotbed, with Baldanzi and midfielder Jacopo Fazzini the two names that they are monitoring at the moment.
