Empoli president reveals their plan for playmaker amid Milan rumours

By Isak Möller -

Tommaso Baldanzi has been linked with several top clubs in Italy over the last few months and AC Milan are one of them. However, it appears the youngster will remain at Empoli for one more season.

The 20-year-old attacking midfielder has found the back of the net four times this season and has attracted the interest of several top clubs in Italy. Milan are one of the clubs, as has been reported lately, and they got to see him in the 0-0 draw on Friday.

Speaking to Radio Sportiva, as cited by SempreMilan.it, Empoli president Fabrizio Corsi shared his thoughts on Baldanzi. He revealed that the plan is to keep him for one more season, and then cash in.

“Our idea is to let him complete his growth here before putting him on the market. We think we can count on him for another year. He and Fazzini are yet to fully develop physically,” he stated.

It remains to be seen what Milan’s stance is. They want to keep Brahim Diaz but if the Spaniard were to leave, then they would need a No.10 already this summer. There are several factors involved, in other words.

    1. We should buy him now but leave him at Empoli for another year.
Their president is right. He is still not physically developed
On the other hand Parisi is ready this summer to come in and be Theo’s back up

      1. Good idea @Z _ if we go further in UCL use that bonus cash to buy both empoli starlets and loan Baldanzi back to them for a season.

Then sign Aouar on a free if Real play hardball w Brahim. Aouar + CDK as our no.10 options for 2023/24. If CDK doesn’t produce after his 2nd season, then we’ve given him long enough and can sell him (probably for a slight loss) to PL, with a ready-made replacement in Baldanzi waiting in the wings.

At least that’s my random “football manager” style theory, admittedly things don’t always work out that simply.

        1. Here is an alternative: Forget the “no. 10”. We’ve been playing well with three central midfield types, even if one of them pushes up to essentially the no. 10 position. It may be better to sell CDK and not replace Brahim and instead focus on good CM, so that we have a rotations of new CM, Krunic, Tonali and Bennacer in the three midfield spots. Call it a 4-3-3 or a 4-2-3-1 with CM pushed up, it’s more solid.

        2. Good call but we don’t need no.10 nobody really plays with no.10 anymore just Italians who still live in the 90′.

      2. Fully agree you re Baldanzi. Pull a Juve, get him now but leave him on loan. As to Parisi, that would be nice, but why would an up and coming Italian LB agree to sit on the bench just as he is emerging? I doubt he will come as Theo’s backup. Bozzolan might be a better idea for that role, although for similar reasons we might want him to be a starter for a Serie B team instead.

  1. Brahim performance are up and down. So sent him back to Madrid please. Milan need playmaker like bennacer who can hold the ball. The instrumen. Tonali ? No, hes like gattuso for while.

  2. What was so special about his performance against us? He looks like a younger, slightly quicker Krunic with a bit more flair

  3. Milan is obsessed with buying #10 and wasting time and money. 10m spent on Aldi and 35m on De Ketelaere. That’s 45m on 2 players for AM who are adding no value to the team.

We could signed Dybala for free and spent the money on a good replacement for Kessie like Amrabat.

Pioli used 433 to beat all the top teams like Juventus, Tottenham, Napoli, Atalanta and Inter.

So we don’t need a #10. Sell Adli and De Ketelaere and invest in getting a good RW, CM, and CF.

A #10 is too one dimensional and this is why we are struggling to get any use out of Adli and CDK. No more #10s. RW only. Baldanzi is not ready for a top team. We don’t need him.

I would rather take Ricci or Adopo from Torino.
