Santiago Gimenez’s first goal for AC Milan generated an understandably excited reaction from his home country Mexico.
It was certainly a lovely goal to open his account for the club, with Christian Pulisic doing excellently to feed him and then the Mexican striker settling the ball down on his left before cutting inside and firing in with power and precision.
Jorge Pietrasanta was the commentator for ESPN Mexico, and he celebrated the strike as follows: “Barbarian goal, high definition! This is the first of a thousand by Santi ‘El Chaquito’ Gimenez!”

Just an outstanding play by two key players who Milan need to excel every match. Above all, Santi’s finish was outstanding. He took his time, made two great touches and a striker’s finish. 10/10.
Watch the reply and look where Puli came from to make his first touch. He has elite field vision and sees plays before they happen. That, and his work rate, are why he beat Rafa to a ball that Rafa was much closer to. His first touch was great and the nutmeg layoff before the collision with the Empoli player was elite. 10/10.
And Maignon gets the hockey assist!
❤🖤
Mexicans are so passionate haha, wonderful people and country. Forza Santi, Forza Milan!
My favourite thing about this clip is being able to watch the team celebrate with him and the togetherness they’re showing. Pulisic is delighted to finally have someone finish his assists, Leao and Theo are there and Abraham, despite likely being dropped for him, sprints halfway up the pitch to join in. Team spirit can go a long way and really showing here.
What a finish!!!! Lethal weapon!!
@Ollie Fisher
I know you only just changed it after the supercoppa but there’s your next podcast intro audio!
Haha was thinking the same bro … forza milan ..Birmingham uk
Forza Milan from Brisbane, Australia!
Forza Milan ❤️🖤 from Abuja Nigeria
Jorge Pietrasanta is quite literally the worst Mexican narrator there is. I still have no clue why ESPN insists in giving that guy the chance to ruin broadcasts with his terrible input. No joke, I even use NordVPN so I can watch the Argentinian commentary instead.
Anyway, Forza Milan, vamos Santi y Viva México cabrones!
