ESPN: Milan handed boost; €35m midfield target to snub Man Utd move

By Oliver Fisher -

Reported AC Milan target Ivan Rakitic is ready to snub a move to Manchester United due to ‘family reasons’, a report claims.

Rossoneri director Zvonomir Boban has repeatedly expressed his regret at not recruiting more experience during the summer.

On Monday, Calciomercato.com‘s Daniele Longo reported that that Boban’s compatriot Rakitic is his dream signing for the January transfer window.

The journalist even claimed that contacts have begun with his representatives, while Sport – as cited by MilanNews.it – recently placed Rakitic’s value at around €35m.

According to ESPN, United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been told that there is money available for the January transfer window.

However, despite the fact that Rakitic is ‘available’, sources have apparently told the outlet that a move to United ‘is unlikely because of family reasons’.

Juventus have also been linked with a move for the 31-year-old, though their director Fabio Paratici appeared to rule that out on Monday, while Inter have been credited with interest too.
