AC Milan handed boost by Juventus boss in pursuit of Rakitic

By Isak Möller -

Earlier today, Calciomercato.com’s Daniele Longo reported that Ivan Rakitic is Zvone Boban’s dream signing for AC Milan, eyeing a move for January. Now, the Rossoneri have received a further boost from Juve boss Fabio Paratici.

The Italian journalist claimed that the midfielder is a target of the San Siro side, though the costs (between transfer fee and salary) will be an obstacle to overcome. Furthermore, Man Utd are also very interested in the player’s services for January.

However, Juve’s CEO has handed Boban a boost in his pursuit of Rakitic. The Bianconeri have been heavily linked with the Croatian as of late, but this was denied by Fabio Paratici in an interview with Goal Italia.

“Rakitic? We have a complete squad and we consider it to be one of the strongest in Europe. We are happy with our players. I would also exclude the arrival of a full-back,” he stated.

It remains to be seen if Paratici is bluffing or not, but if true, then Milan have one less hurdle to overcome. Even so, a deal seems unlikely simply because of the costs to bring him in.
