ESPN: Milan interested but PSG lead race for Real Madrid star on a free

AC Milan are already working on the summer mercato and several players have been linked with them lately. The latest name is Marco Asensio, who is set to leave Real Madrid on a free transfer.

Milan are not expected to make any reinforcements in defence this summer, but the situation is different in midfield and attack. The latest player to be linked with the Rossoneri, as stated, is Marco Asensio.

As per ESPN, Asensio has decided to leave Real Madrid this summer as his contract will end. Naturally, many big clubs have been monitoring his situation in the last few months and could all try to swoop.

Milan are one of the teams interested in the Spaniard, as the report continues, but Paris Saint-Germain are currently leading the race. They are already in advanced talks with the playmaker’s entourage, having made an enticing offer.

Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara will likely miss out on this one, in other words. They have the likes of Daichi Kamada and Brahim Diaz on their wish list, and thus signing Asensio would perhaps be redundant.

    1. “Free” these days just means bidding war, abeit of another kind.
I don’t see how we can offer more money than PSG. Ultimately, it’s up to Asensio.

  1. We cannot win in wage war with PSG or EPL club. Just skip, asensio reject Real madrid offer renewal thats means he want more money . He is good but small chance he will choose AC Milan that can offer 4-5m euro nett salary/ years

  2. Asensio has a great left foot and for free he wont be a bad signing. But i think we need something better. Asensio is also very slow and not your typical winger who takes opponents in 1on1 situations. He wont fit in Pioli style where you need a winger who can actually beat opponents in 1on1 situations or out run them. Asensio might fit better in the AM position in Milan.

  3. He can take on players in a 1 on 1 situation, he is a good winger plus he can shoot from far. i won’t mind having him
