Pervis Estupinan scored the winner for AC Milan in the Derby della Madonnina and afterwards, he said that the goal was the most important of his career.
Due to Davide Bartesaghi’s discomfort, which kept him out of training until Friday, Massimiliano Allegri opted to start Estupinan in the left wing-back role for the important game. It’s a decision that certainly caught a lot of attention, and perhaps rightfully so made the Milan fans worried.

That worry didn’t last for long, though, as Estupinan opened the scoring in the 35th minute with an absolute rocket. After the game, the Ecuadorian spoke to DAZN (via MilanNews) and labelled the goal the most important of his career.
What does this goal mean? The most important goal of your life?
“Yes, it’s the most important goal of my career. We worked hard this week, and this is the result.”
Did the coach tell you to make that run?
“We worked hard on it all week, the coach told me to attack and I found the right moment.”
Lazio are up next for Milan and it remains to be seen if Estupinan will get the chance from start again. Now, however, all he has to do is celebrate the derby victory with his teammates, who managed to do the double over Inter for the first time since 2011.
Happy for him. He’s had a rough year. Maybe this will be the changing point.
TBH he has never been that bad. There were a few mistakes and then when Bartesaghi got a chance he deservedly kept the spot on this performances.
Esutpinan has been decent in the few chances he has had since Bartesaghi took the starting position.
Last week he was pivotal in turning the game into a win. He had an important combination with Modric as he entered the field for a corner. Immediate moment that contributed to breaking deadlock and we win 2 nil.
Tonight had a great performance all round and was perfect in this moment to score the goal after great build up from Fofana & Leao.
Warren I could not have said it better. I’ve seen all Milan’s games this season except one, and Estupinan has been decent and was getting better with each game until he was injured. The amount of hate he gets in here is just irrational.

Just check the player ratings comments after a derby win. I don’t understand when did Milan pick up that many losers as fans. But it is embarrassing. Most people aren’t celebrating, ecstatic for winning, but complaining how some player should have got a better rating while the other should have gotten less? Are you clowns Milan fans or player fans? Once again, embarrassing
maybe it would have been much better, if the process in becoming a Mila fan were more stressful. MAybe, some of these ‘player fans’ might be reduced in the fan base.
