AC Milan clinched their first Scudetto in eleven years last weekend and the optimism is more evident than it has been for years. This upcoming season, they also want to assert themselves in the Champions League.
The Rossoneri were knocked out of the group stage this past season after what was a rather disappointing campaign. They won just one game (Atletico Madrid away) and struggled to show their best side on the big stage.
For this upcoming season, therefore, they want to do better and thus secure more revenue for the club (read more here). Thanks to the Scudetto, they will be in Pot 1 for the group stage draw and that means they will avoid the likes of PSG, Man City, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and others.
The draw will take place on August 25th and the group stage will commence on September 6th. Round 2-6 will be played on the following dates: September 13-14, October 4-5, October 11-12, October 25-26 and November 1-2. The fact that the World Cup will take place in the winter means that the UCL schedule (for the group stage) ends earlier than usual.
