Fabrizio Romano: No talks between Milan and Barcelona over Coutinho ‘as of today’

By Oliver Fisher -

There has once again been a denial that AC Milan are in talks over a potential deal for Barcelona playmaker Philippe Coutinho.

There are a number sources that have reported Milan’s interest in Coutinho and added that a market opportunity could arise because Barcelona need to significantly reduce the salaries of the first team in order to be able to afford the renewal of Lionel Messi plus the other free transfers.

The Brazil international has been put on the market at an affordable price as per Calciomercato.com and sporting director Ricky Massara greatly appreciates the qualities of the 29-year-old, making an enquiry with the agency who represent Coutinho.

However, Fabrizio Romano claims that there are no talks going on between AC Milan and Barcelona for Coutinho, as of today at least, but Barcelona still consider the Brazil international to be on the market as they look to offload big contracts.
