Muscle fatigue behind Giroud’s absence – the latest on Udinese clash

By Isak Möller -

Olivier Giroud missed out on the parties yesterday and today as AC Milan beat Vicenza and Pergolettese 6-1 and 7-1 respectively. The forward is suffering from muscle fatigue and was thus unavailable.

The Frenchman, who was a key figure in Milan’s Scudetto win, did well this pre-season with four goals scored in three games. At the age of 35, he still has all the motivation he needs to perform at a very high level.

His body sometimes keeps him out of the action, though, as was the case yesterday and today. Milan confirmed last night that he’s suffering from muscle fatigue and Stefano Pioli obviously didn’t want to risk him with one week left until the opener.

Speaking of which, the Rossoneri and the manager expect to have Giroud back and ready for the game against Udinese on Saturday. Ante Rebic has proven to be a rather decent replacement in case he can’t make it back, though.
