The FIGC have confirmed when the summer transfer window will take place for Serie A clubs, as well as the winter mercato.

Football in Italy is all set to finally get back underway starting with Friday’s Coppa Italia semi-final second leg between Milan and Juventus at the Allianz Stadium in Turin.

Serie A action will resume the following week, but the Rossoneri will have to wait until Monday June 22 for their first league game back: an evening trip to face Lecce.

Through an official press release (as cited by MilanNews), Italian football’s governing body confirmed that the summer window will open on 1st September and will last until 5th October 2020.

In addition, they also stated the dates for the next winter transfer window, confirming that it will take place from 4th January to 31st January 2021.

Meanwhile, the FIGC also announced that a play-off system will be used if the season cannot resume for whatever reason.
