The five key battles that could win or lose the game for Milan against Torino

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan will face Torino at Stadio Olimpico later this evening and it will be crucial to claim all three points, as their rivals won last night. There are a few key battles to take into consideration, as always.

The Rossoneri will be looking to extend their winning streak in the league to five games, further boosting their confidence ahead of the Salzburg clash next week. Down below are the five key battles for tonight’s game.

The first is Brahim Diaz against Samuele Ricci. The latter is young but also works incredibly hard on the pitch, which will be needed against an in-form Diaz this evening. The Spaniard is eager to show that he still deserves the starting spot over Charles De Ketelaere and his movement will be important.

Another attacker that will be crucial for Milan is, of course, Rafael Leao. He will be up against Koffi Djidji this evening and it will be interesting to see who will get the advantage at the start of the game.

As for Torino’s attack, Nikola Vlasic is one of the danger men and he will most likely target Matteo Gabbia today. The Croatian has some pace and that isn’t Gabbia’s best area, but he has the strenght to stop the Torino man.

In midfield, Tommaso Pobega will most likely be tasked with keeping the dictating Sasa Lukic quiet with his pressing. Pobega knows the player well and can use his size to give Milan an advantage in the middle.

Finally, Milan and Torino have Theo Hernandez and Mërgim Vojvoda respectively as the danger men on the flanks. They will be up against each other today and that will be very interesting, seeing as both are dangerous in attack.
