Tuttosport: Florenzi has a ‘good chance’ of starting for Milan vs. Sassuolo

By Isak Möller -

Stefano Pioli signed his contract renewal yesterday but doesn’t to celebrate the matter as Milan’s clash against Sassuolo will require all of his focus. There are some battles in the starting XI, including the right-back spot.

According to Tuttosport, as cited by MilanNews, Alessandro Flroenzi could play from the first minute tomorrow. In fact, he has a ‘good chance’ of doing so despite the positive performances of competition Pierre Kalulu as of late.

This was also reported by Gazzetta Dello Sport this morning, so it will be interesting to hear Stefano Pioli’s thoughts on the matter if it’s brought up during his presser. The latter is currently ongoing (started at 14:00 CET) and you can soon read the full transcript on the site.

Davide Calabria’s injury has given both Kalulu and Florenzi an opportunity to climb up the ranks and it remains to be seen who will succeed the most. Currently, it must be said that Kalulu is ahead of the Roma loanee.
