Morata Reijnders Fonseca

Repubblica: Fonseca is becoming ‘more alone’ at Milan as players ‘disown him’

AC Milan lost to Atalanta on Friday night, and with the defeat, any hopes of a Scudetto push diminished. However, there is a big thing to take note of from the game.

Following the game, Fonseca voiced his concerns about the officiating against Milan this season, and despite having the support of the club, it seems that he and his players are on a different wavelength, according to a report.

As La Repubblica (via Milan News) writes, the players have ‘disowned’ their head coach, and worrying, it is the pillars that have done this.

Both Alvaro Morata and Tijjani Reijnders disagreed that the loss came as a result of poor officiating, instead looking at their own faults as a team, rather than seeking something else to blame, which is something that frustrated the fans after the game as well.

Despite largely positive signs against Atalanta, the result was still not the one required for the season to progress, and whilst this is a worry for the fans, the management are not prepared to take any action just yet.

Instead, it would only be if the Diavolo failed to qualify for the Champions League that action would be taken against the Portuguese head coach.

  1. Well they deserve this – owner + coach + management.

I hope fans will know how to recognise this and top paying for overpriced tickets…

  2. The players seemed unconvinced by Fonseca from the start, hence several issues between manager and players.

Since most of the players have tried their best for him and realise its still not working..
Its no surprise they want him gone.

I’m sure they are unimpressed with the management by this debacle

  3. I don’t know if this is true, but now is the ideal time for change… we play against Cverna and then against Genoa and Helas Verona…and last match is frustrated AS Roma… Ideal time for Sarri and almost month for training his tactics….I have little hope in Fonseca, in his abilities to achieve some trophy ( Italy Cup or Supercoppa) and most important thing, qualify to next CL …

  4. Pioli and Maldini don’t look so bad these days. But, in truth, whoever takes control of Milan will have the same problem. Too many cooks spoil the broth.

  5. We can call it BS and just drama being started by the media but our eyes can see that it’s true, it’s obviously true, it has been true all season… From Leão and Theo with their water break, the penality debacle, the obvious lack of motivation from many players. No public support from the players of their coach. The body language.

Fonseca lost the dressing room ages ago. If he ever had it in the first place.
