FootMercato: Milan place €2m bid for midfielder but club president makes intentions clear

By Oliver Fisher -

Yet more information has filtered suggesting that AC Milan have made a bid for teenage midfielder Warren Bondo of AS Nancy-Lorraine.

According to FootMercato, the Rossoneri have a concrete interest in signing Bondo, who became the youngest professional player in the club’s history. Since then, the midfielder has gradually climbed the ranks and he 14 matches in all competitions last season.

The 17-year-old was present at the start of preseason in mid-June to prepare for the new campaign but speculation continues to grow suggesting he could still leave the club. That is because Bondo has not yet extended his contract ending in 2022, even if his club are determined to keep him.

Milan have firmed up their interest and have made an offer of €2m including bonuses for the young midfielder, who played for the French national team at U16 and U17 level and more recently for the U18s in October.

Gauthier Ganaye, Nancy President, spoke regarding Milan’s interest in Warren Bondo.

“I don’t know how much Milan would be prepared to pay out precisely for the simple reason that we are not at all a selling club, we do not open any doors. We’re counting on Warren. The player knows it,” he said (via Twitter).

“Warren’s extension has been a priority for us since we bought the club and have been running it. We talk with the agents, with Warren’s family. We are doing our best to find a solution that makes everyone happy.”
