Fourneau will officiate tonight’s clash against Samp – the precedents with Milan

By Isak Möller -

The relatively young referee Francesco Fourneau will officiate tonight’s clash between AC Milan and Sampdoria at San Siro. It’s a crucial game for the Rossoneri who are hoping to keep the Champions League dream alive.

Milan are currently four points behind fourth-placed Lazio in the standings, meaning they need to grab all three points tonight. Just three games remain of the season and if the Rossoneri were to drop points, Lazio could decide the race against Udinese tomorrow.

Francesco Fourneau has been entrusted with the game and it will be the fourth time officiating a Milan game for him. The Rossoneri have won one game with the 38-year-old in charge, which came against Salernitana at the start of the year (1-2 win).

The other two games ended in draws; 2-2 against Parma and 1-1 against Udinese. Theo Hernandez scored a brace in the former and Zlatan Ibrahimovic pulled off a bicycle kick in the latter. Hopefully, another win will be added to the tally tonight.
