French journalist reveals PSG’s stance on Donnarumma and Raiola’s renewal tactics

By Oliver Fisher -

In what feels like a repeat saga, AC Milan are once again faced with the daunting prospect of sitting down with Mino Raiola to discuss Gianluigi Donnarumma’s renewal.

The Rossoneri’s prized young goalkeeper was heavily linked with a move to PSG during the summer again, and despite the fact he ended up remaining at the club it feels like his future is still at a crossroads.

This is in large part due to the fact that Donnarumma’s deal expires in 2021, and widespread reports have claimed that Milan have no intention of letting that enter the final 12 months.

MilanNews.it recently reported that the 20-year-old’s situation has become ‘an attractive prospect for possible suitors and worrying for Milan’, with Juventus mentioned as interested.

Now, Le Parisien journalist Cristophe Berard has offered his take on the situation surrounding Donnarumma in an interview with calciomercatonews.com.

“PSG are no longer interested in Donnarumma. With Navas they now have an excellent goalkeeper,” Berard stated.

“For me, this whole story is just a manoeuvre of his agent, Raiola, who is trying to get a better proposal from Juventus.

“A few months ago it could have been an idea, but the arrival of Navas changed the cards on the table. Today they no longer need a keeper. The Costa Rican is a true number one, while Donnarumma has no great experience in the Champions League.

“For this year and next year, PSG no longer needs to monitor a goalkeeper. Of course, Gigio was liked a lot by Leonardo, but now it’s a closed speech.

“Raiola is very clever and knows he must play around to get an even bigger salary from Milan, or a possible buyer like Juventus.”
