Chelsea are continuing their efforts to sign AC Milan striker Gonzalo Higuain, according to reports from England.
Spanish outlet Marca made the bold claim on Tuesday that Chelsea were ‘hours away’ from completing the deal, but Sky Sport Italia responded saying the transfer is still a long way from completion.
The London Evening Standard are reporting on Wednesday that Sarri has once again asked the Chelsea board to try and seal the signature of Higuain.
However, negotiations are complicated and the two parties (Chelsea and Juve) have different ideas: the Bianconeri wanting the Premier League side to basically accept the same terms as Milan – a loan with €36m obligation to buy.
However, Chelsea only want to sign the Argentina on a shorter terms deal and are not keen on paying a substantial fee for the 31-year-old.
Higuain publicly criticised by sporting director Leonardo on Tuesday during Lucas Paqueta’s official presentation.
