From France: One reason cited as PSG want Milan star to replace summer departure

By Oliver Fisher -

Paris Saint-Germain remain interested in AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma for one key reason, a report claims.

The 20-year-old was heavily linked with a move to the Ligue 1 giants earlier in the summer amid rumours former Rossoneri sporting director Leonardo wishes to raid his old club.

PSG have since gone on to sell Kevin Trapp to Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt, which as a result has meant they are reportedly in the market for a new shot-stopper.

This has led to suggestions earlier in the month that Donnarumma is back on the Parisians’ wishlist, however the player is understood to be keen on staying with Milan.

However, according to a report from French outlet RMC Sport (via Calciomercato.com), the Diavolo may be about to have their resolve tested.

They state that PSG are not convinced about the ability of Alphonse Areola and as such could look to Donnarumma or Keylor Navas of Real Madrid.

It has been suggested by the Italian media that any move for Gigio would depend on Paris Saint-Germain selling Neymar – such is the cost of the operation.
