From Portugal: Milan give up on Gedson Fernandes due to €30m price tag

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have given up in their pursuit of Benfica midfielder Gedson Fernandes due to his €30m asking price, reports claim.

Recent reports claimed that Paolo Maldini reached out to the Portuguese side in order to request information on the 20-year-old.

However, both A Bola and Record in Portugal claim that Milan were quoted a €30million asking price in order to take sign Fernandes.

That figure was deemed too much by Maldini and the rest of the leadership, and as such the club have now turned to other targets.

Fernandes made twenty two appearances for Benfica in Liga NOS last season and produced three assists.

He also got European experience by playing six Champions League games and six in the Europa League, and represented Portugal in the U20 World Cup.
