From Spain: Barca pave way for West Ham as Milan could miss out on full-back

By Isak Möller -

Milan are searching for a left-back on the market and they have been heavily linked with Junior Firpo in the last few days. Although it seems the player would like the move, the Rossoneri could struggle to close it.

According to Mundo Deportivo, contrary to reports from Italy, Barcelona are working on selling the full-back to Premier League. Above all, there are two clubs interested: West Ham and Southampton. The former seem to be ahead in the race.

The Catalan side will prioritise permanent offers for Firpo while Milan, to date, only are interested in a loan perhaps with a buy-out clause. Therefore, the Rossoneri are behind in the race and they could struggle to catch up.

Barcelona need every bit of money they can get from their outcasts to reinvest the money on the market, amid their financial struggle. Then again, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara might be able to work their magic.
