Furlani answers questions on meeting with Cardinale and Pioli’s future – video

AC Milan CEO Giorgio Furlani answered questions from reporters while arriving for a lunch that will take place with the leaders of Roma.

As is the case with all European matches, Milan act as the hosts for the traditional UEFA lunch, welcoming the top management of Roma who are this evening’s opponent in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-final.

The lunch is taking place at the ‘da Cracco’ restaurant in the Duomo area in the city centre of Milan, and Furlani spoke to some journalists who were present outside, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.

An Italian derby, an emotion…

“I’m always excited for the matches in Europe, even the ones against the Italian sides.”

This morning there was a meeting with Gerry Cardinale…

“Gerry cares a lot about the team. For important matches, when he can be there, he is there.”

Pioli said that this is a crucial moment for future evaluations…

“In April the matches all start to be very important. We are in a good moment, we hope to continue.”

Will his position depend on this season finale?

“Eeeh, usual questions…”

What brought the team back to having this level of performance?

“Almost everyone has returned from injuries. We have found the right mechanisms. But always ask Zlatan or the coach these sporting questions.”

How important is Ibrahimovic’s present in these matches?

“It’s always important to have Zlatan. I always say he brings many things, he was a great champion on the champion on the field and he is showing that he is a great champion also as a manager.”
