Furlani speaks on ‘great honour’ of leading his boyhood club after being appointed CEO

Giorgio Furlani has revealed his delight after it was announced that he will be the new Chief Executive Officer of AC Milan from next month.

It was confirmed on the official website this afternoon that Furlani will take over from Ivan Gazidis when his contract runs out in December 5, as he will step aside from his role after four years and will leave the club too.

Furlani is actually from Milano and has been a fan of the Rossoneri his whole life, having taken up a position on the board back in 2018 when Elliott Management took control of the club, given he was working as an advisor for Elliott in London.

He spoke about his appointment as part of the statement published by the club, thanking everyone in charge for what is essentially a promotion.

“I want to thank Gerry and the RedBird team for giving me the great honour of leading the club I love as it embarks on the next phase of its revival,” he said.

“I look forward to working with Chairman Scaroni, Paolo Maldini, Stefano Pioli and the rest of the club’s leadership: together, I know that we can achieve greater success, on and off the field, in the years to come. Forza Milan!”
