Furlani jokes with journalists ahead of Slavia game: “I’m still here, as you can see”

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan CEO Giorgio Furlani spoke to reporters ahead of the UEFA lunch with Slavia Praha, and he began by cracking a joke that he is ‘still here’.

Furlani’s name has been in the headlines a lot over the last 48 hours because of the investigation into Milan that is being conducted by the Milan Prosecutor’s Office and the Guardia di Finanza.

La Gazzetta dello Sport gave a detailed round-up of what we know so far regarding the raid on Casa Milan, while the brilliant Felice Raimondo picked apart the various cases that could be brought against the club.

On Tuesday night, Elliott issued their response to the notion that they are still in control of Milan, and a statement from RedBird along the same lines then followed last night.

Nonetheless, Furlani is present in Prague for the second leg against Slavia and he spoke briefly to the journalists present before the customary UEFA lunch.

“Hi everyone, I’m still here, as you can see. Tonight’s AC Milan match is important, we’ve never won the Europa League. We start from 4-2, but let’s pretend we start from 0-0,” he said.

  1. Some fans no doubt getting excited over this…. you have to prove your innocence rather than being proven guilty of course nowadays 😵‍💫

    1. Exactly, reminds me of Palme d’Or-winning Anatomy of a Fall about that. It will depend on the evidence obviously, I don’t know if Elliott/Redbird are guilty of something but anyway they’re probably not stupid enough to leave hazardous documents on their laptop.

Maybe the Italian government wants to benefit from Saudi Arabia the same way the French government is benefiting financially speaking from Qatar since they helped them buy PSG.

      1. There is not one shred of proof. They just don’t like the best operated and managed team in Italy that’s actually turning profits.

    2. Im sure that most people deep down understands that the burden of proof is on the prosecutor and not the other way around regardless whether people likes the management or not.

  2. I think our management has caused significant irritation to the deeply corrupt Meloni government. And they are trying to look at ways of reprisals. This is just my guess.

  3. Admittedly I give alot of flack to Smuggy McSmugFace, but I dunno about this one and I’m ready to roll with him if he’s innocent. He is after all part of our beloved club! And no one crosses our ppl. (If anyone is to come down hard on Smuggy it’s us not some shadyness lol 😂). It has an air of trumped up charges tbh but we’ll have to wait and see.
