Furlani hopes more Brazilians arrive at Milan and comments on ‘really good’ last month

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan CEO Giorgio Furlani believes that the club have had a really good last month, and also commented on the idea of more Brazilians arriving in the future.

Milan began their Europa League campaign in the perfect way last night, winning 3-0 in the first leg of their play-off round tie against Stade Rennais thanks to a brace from Ruben Loftus-Cheek and a great goal from Rafael Leao.

It should be enough to secure qualification for the next round but a very difficult away leg beckons in France next week, in which Rennes – who came into the game in brilliant form – will look to put things right.

At the end of the game, CEO Giorgio Furlani spoke to Andersinho Marques of Rede 98 which is a Brazilian outlet, and shared some brief statements.

“Hello Brazilian friends, today was a good day for us. Our last month has been really good. The season is still long and we hope to continue doing things well,” he said.

“Milan has a history with many Brazilians, I hope more can arrive.”

  1. Milan are totally disconnect with brazilian football market. During Galliani’s time, we were the club that had the first option for the most talented player that appeared in the foreground of Brazilian football. Today we no longer count on the Brazilian market, we are zero.

  2. That was mostly due to Serginho and Leonardo spearheading scouting department under Galliani and Braida. Serginho and Leonardo found us the likes of Kaka, Pato and Thiago Silva. Rivaldo, Ronaldo, Cafu and Ronaldinho came already in their late career years as former superstars.
