Furlani praises ‘spirit’ created among Milan squad: “It was a good start”

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan CEO Giorgio Furlani believes that the team have made a good start to the season and it is thanks to the ‘spirit’ that has been created at the club.

With the 2-0 victory over Lazio at San Siro on Saturday night, Milan made it six wins in their opening seven Serie A games with the only blemish on their record being the derby defeat to Inter just over a couple of weeks ago.

It comes after a summer revolution in which Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara were sacked as directors, with Furlani and chief scout Geoffrey Moncada stepping up. They sold Sandro Tonali and then signed 10 players, so it was a hectic couple of months.

On the sidelines of the event to promote the renewal of the partnership between Milan and Snaitech – who today became Premium Partner of the Rossoneri – Furlani spoke to MilanNews among other reporters present.

“I thank Fabio, I thank the Snaitech team and everyone who works at Snaitech. It is a partnership that has been going on for 13 years. You have been with us in good and less good times and those to come,” he began.

“Thank you for everything this, today is a very important day: you become Premium Partner of Milan. You help us with the balance sheet, so thank you (laughs).

“You are a model, you are a company managed so well, so much so that in the past I tried to buy it but I’m not there succeeded.”

On the start to the season, he added: “It was a good start, but we’ll see in June, it’s still early. I must say that I really like the group and the spirit that has been created, both at Milanello and on the pitch.

“For this I thank the coach, the players and all the staff. The same thing is experienced at Casa Milan, where there is a great spirit and teamwork, and it is the same attitude that I hope to bring to this collaboration with Snaitech.”

  1. The team spirit is clear but imagine if Ibra returns too. We should be challenging for the scudetto with this squad. 🤞

    1. Im sure we will regardless of ibras return but it wouldnt hurt either to see him in the coaching team or some capacity in regard of man management,
