Gabbia admits disappointment after friendly loss: “Not winning bothers us” – video

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan defender Matteo Gabbia has admitted to feeling disappointed after the friendly defeat against ZTE yesterday, also revealing that his physical condition is not yet at 100%.

Milan were 3-0 down after 26 minutes against their Hungarian opponents who were far more intense from the start but are also further along in their preseason. Gabbia was interviewed by Milan TV after the defeat against ZTE, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.

“It’s an important test, we are sorry for the result, it does not take a back seat and we are disappointed. We wanted to win, this is our mentality. We have worked to get there and in every situation not winning bothers us. We will work to do better, to take more condition, more brilliance and get to both the next friendly and the first game of the season in the best possible way,” he said.

“I feel good, my condition is not the best possible but I am happy with my body, how it is reacting to these first 20 days and the fact that the coach has given me the opportunity to take measures with the pitch, trust and to use these minutes to gain more awareness and better condition. I hope to have as much playing time as possible in the friendlies in the future.

On the retreat to Austria: “It will be 4 days to spend together, focused on training, on improving, on forming a group but I have no doubt that we will need it; we are guys who love each other, who train well together and who have a great spirit of spirit and we will work to create something unique also this season.”
