Today, AC Milan did not hold an official training session at Milanello. However, a few players were there getting ready for the season finale.
It is nothing new for Milan players to have the early parts of the week off. In fact, through this season it has been a common occurance for Massimiliano Allegri to give the team time off after the weekend’s fixture.
Nevertheless, it appears this has carried over to the international break. Yet, there have been a few players show up to the training ground today, even with no reason to.
Three train during Milanello day off
According to MilanNews, there were three players present at Milanello, despite no instructions to do so.
Matteo Gabbia was there, perhaps understandably, to carry out some individual training. He has been absent for a while, and it is clear that he wants to get back into the swing of things ahead of the game against Napoli.
Then, there were two strikers also in attendance: Santiago Gimenez and Niclas Fullkrug. The report states that both want to show signs of responsibility and a desire to be ready for the final run-in of the season.
Ahead of the Napoli fixture, it is exactly the attitude that needs to be shown and it is commendable.

Gabbia would have done so much better for Italy than Bastoni. Bastoni may have just cost Italy dearly.
The Italian national team has been really horrible without Milan players representing this past years
perhaps it’s a chicken and egg situation. Milan does not have many italian players because right now most of them are bad. (Aside from Tonali who we would’ve lost anyway to an PL club eventually). I hear a lot “Milan doesnt have italians”. Maybe it is because there arent any. We do have a few young guys, (not just camarda) . So hopefully, we give them a chance to develop and get a win-win
I see Füllkrug & Gimenez are worried they’ll be losing their spot for Pavlovic.
