AC Milan defender Matteo Gabbia has insisted that the team have prepared with a ‘peace of mind’ ahead of today’s game against Sassuolo.

The Rossoneri need just one point to secure the Scudetto as they are currently two points ahead of city rivals Inter. Obviously, Stefano Pioli’s men will aim for all three points to finish the season on what would be a very positive note.

Gabbia was interviewed by Milan TV before the game, with his comments relayed by MilanNews. The youngster won’t be playing from start but he might come off the bench, depending on the scores of the game.

“I feel important emotions, I feel I have the responsibility to do my best to reach the goal after a year of hard work,” he said.

“It has been a week that we have prepared with peace of mind, like the last few weeks. The coach was very good at conveying his ideas. The last step is left, we must enter the field and do our best.”

What Sassuolo do you expect?

“Sassuolo is definitely a tough, important team with quality players, we will have to play a great game and make ourselves and all the fans who came here to support us proud.”

There will be around 18k fans at Mapei Stadium this evening, which is significant considering that the total stadium capacity is 21.5k. In other words, it will absolutely feel like a home game for Milan.
