Galliani reveals the inspiring message Maldini sent him after Milan’s win on Saturday night

Former AC Milan CEO Adriano Galliani has revealed that Paolo Maldini sent him an inspiring message after this weekend’s games.

Galliani knows all about what it takes to win and achieve dreams given that during his 31-year tenure with Milan as a CEO the club won 29 major honours including 8 Scudetti and 5 Champions League titles.

Simply put, Galliani and the Milan management assembled some of the best club sides ever seen starting from the late 1990s running all the way into the late 2000s including Ballon d’Or winners an other superstaers.

Galliani spoke during an interview with Sky and he was asked about Milan and Monza during his appearance at the ‘United for the heart’ event, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.

“The best thing that happened to me on Saturday evening was a message from Paolo Maldini who sent me a photo with the rankings of Milan and Monza, both first. Then Monza was overtaken but we are there and luckily Milan remained first,” he said.

Galliani was then asked what is more likely: Milan winning the Scudetto or Monza gaining promotion to Serie A.

“I would like both things, one has to dream big. It would be a dream if both things happened.”

On Ibrahimovic, he added: “I saw him last week, he’s a friend, but it’s not fair to talk about him. The heart is pro-Ibra, but those who manage the club understand that they can make other assessments. I think he will stay in Milan next season as well, he will retire with the Rossoneri.”

On Pioli: “He did something no one had thought of. He moved on to 4-2-3-1 and everything went right, taking advantage of the players he had. In this way the players have grown a lot. I’m impressed by Kakulu who in my opinion is beyond the rosiest expectations.

“Maignan? I think he is an incredible footballer. I told Maldini the other day that probably the player of the squad with the best touch is the goalkeeper. Plus he has personality. The goalkeepers’ coaches were also very good, they took away some of the defects that had been seen in France.”
