AC Milan face potentially their biggest game of the season tomorrow night as they take on Atalanta at the Gewiss Stadium.
There promises to be fireworks in Bergamo as two teams who are full of confidence and banging in the goals face off against each other, even if the hosts are currently nine points ahead in the table.
According to the latest from Sky, after the rotation in the Coppa Italia against Sassuolo – in which he made eight changes to the line-up – Paulo Fonseca should return to his ‘first choice’ team.
The coach himself confirmed in the press conference that Yunus Musah will play in his new right-sided hybrid role again, with Alvaro Morata, Rafael Leao and Christian Pulisic also in the attack. For the rest of the XI, there are no real surprises.
For Atalanta meanwhile, Gian Piero Gasperini must pick a winner in the battle to start in the centre for the three-man defence, with Hien ahead of Djimsiti at the moment. In attack De Ketelaere is favourite over Retegui to face his old club and support Lookman.
Predicted Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Emerson Royal, Thiaw, Gabbia, Theo Hernandez; Fofana, Reijnders; Musah, Pulisic, Leao; Morata.
Predicted Atalanta XI (3-4-1-2): Carnesecchi; Kossounou, Hien, Kolasinac; Bellanova, De Roon, Ederson, Ruggeri; Pasalic; De Ketelaere, Lookman.
I just hope that the musah, fofana combo with reijnders as cam will remain for a couple of games. No need changing lineup each game. It creates inconsistencies.
There’s no realistic alternative to that pair, RLC is mostly anonymous when palayed.
Thiaw and Gabbia against Lookman, CDK and Retegui?
We’re having a laugh aren’t we?
