AC Milan’s attack has been in fine form in the past few games, which means their upcoming game against Atalanta has the potential for fireworks.
As La Gazzetta dello Sport reports, the streak of goals in recent matches for Milan is very positive. They scored six against Sassuolo, three against Empoli, three against Slovan Bratislava, zero against Juventus and three against Cagliari.
They have hit 15 in the last five games despite being kept out by Juve. Thus, the game against Atalanta could be ‘a playground’. Gian Piero Gasperini has three forwards in great form, while Paulo Fonseca’s midfielders have been netting regularly.
There is Rafael Leao too, obviously, who plays more centrally and now scores goals. Tammy Abraham, who also scored in the Coppa Italia, spoke about his chemistry with Rafa: “We have this connection, we want to continue and show the world that the team is very good and there is chemistry between us.”
Milan have won three games in a row scoring at least three goals, something they haven’t done since January 2022. They scored six goals vs. Sassuolo and haven’t done so since Torino 0-7 Milan in May 2021.
They have socred 24 goals in the first half of games this season, number one in Italy together with Atalanta. The growth compared to a complicated October is visible to the naked eye, but less simple to explain why it happens.
The improving condition of many players helps, as does Reijnders’ form, new attacking schemes, balance in the team, Leao more central and Christian Pulisic playing in the right half-space. That being said, scoring goals against Slovan, Empoli and Serie B side Sassuolo should be expected.
