Gattuso talks about Fiorentina defeat, hits back at Montolivo

By Isak Möller -

After the 0-1 loss to Fiorentina, AC Milan manager Gennaro Gattuso spoke to Sky Italia about his team’s current crisis, dropping out of the top four.

On the situation: “It’s complicated, today we were in an emergency, the defeat hurts. We lost a bit of brilliance, and we also had a bit of bad luck. We conceded one shot on target, which was the goal.”

On the absences: “We had to come up with something in midfield, we had a lot of players unavailable. We have to make better use of the open field situations, we need to improve on that.”

On Montolivo: “Today Mauri played well, Montolivo has played zero minutes. I think the others are ahead of him and that’s why I made this decision.

On Higuain and the market: “This a question for Leo, Maldini and the management. He’s going through a tough period, but as long as he’s at Milanello we have to work to use him for the best. The whole team is struggling.

On possible purchases in January: “I’d like to talk about the game, the difficulties. I can’t talk about what we’re missing, it’s not my job. After such a defeat I can hardly talk about the market.”
